About Me

Experience

My journey through the field of autism and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) began in 2001 while I was an undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

Back then, I knew nothing about autism, but a chance to work as a Behaviour Interventionist (BI) presented itself, and I took the opportunity.

Little did I know that four years later, I would fully immerse myself into the profession as a self-employed BI. In 2012 I graduated from UBC with a Masters of Education in Special Education with a Focus in Autism, and I received my Board Certification (BCBA) in May 2013.

Passion

When people ask what I do for a living and I tell them that I work with children with autism, they usually reply with one of two responses: that it must be challenging, or that must be rewarding.

Both are true and are precisely the reasons I love what I do. Every client I meet is unique and presents new challenges. I am constantly working to be inventive in my programming to ensure that each child is receiving teaching that supports his or her unique learning style. There is no better reward for me than watching my clients acquire new skills that allow them to explore and navigate their world with greater understanding. It is this vision that I focus on daily as I work with my clients each step of the way.
